There are a TON of theme ideas you can do.
Decade parties are always a big hit. Nostalgia for the '80s is huge right now, what with movies out for the "Transformers" and other '80s toys. Plus, music channels are running a lot of old school Michael Jackson videos lately, which could probably give you some great ideas to work off of! You can decorate with neon colors and decor that were popular back in that decade.
You can decorate with old, vinyl albums and records that you can pick up at a Thrift Shop and hang them on the walls.
The '70s is another good decade with lots of ideas. (Break out a Farrah Fawcett costume as a tribute). You can decorate your place like a big disco studio with a giant glittering disco ball suspended from the ceiling!
Sci-Fi or fantasy-themed parties are always good ones. Star Trek is big right now and Harry Potter and other superheroes are also pretty popular.
