Over the last four days, more than 100,000 fans of comic books, science fiction, fantasy, and geek entertainment of all kinds descended on San Diego, California for Comic-Con 2011, the largest convention of its kind in the world. Many of the attendees participated in cosplay activities, dressing up in elaborate costumes to celebrate their favorite fictional characters.
