Cosplay is catching up worldwide, more and more conferences and shows are taking place, and Moscow (Russia) is not out of the loop.

Warriors, queens, steampunk, Japanese, many cosplay styles were represented during the event.

As reported, J-Fest, a cosplay show, recently took place in Moscow and featured great cosplay as you can see above.

I posted a few weeks ago about the Diablo 3 costume which was at the time in development.

Today the costume is all done and this is the newest video.

As if wearing a costume was not fun enough, or running an extreme race wasn't tough enough, these runners decided to mix it up!

The XCX cross-country race took place on November 19th in Midway Sandbar Columbia, MO.

I am actually referring to Daniel Radcliffe. In a recent interview with Digital Spy:

We put the glasses on and eventually we realized I was allergic to them. I was allergic to the Harry Potter glasses because these two rings of whiteheads and spots had come up around my eyes. It took us about a week to realize that it was actually the glasses.

Another awesome yet creepy mask, not sure if it's more looking like a horse or a donkey (it's up for debate) but this is very well done.

The guys at NorthFur.ca sell a variety of animal masks (http://www.northfur.ca/gallery//masks): cow, walrus, raccoon, and so on... but the horse/donkey mask is my favorite one.

This is the Large Horse/Donkey Muzzle, a newer and larger version of our older horse muzzle. It has a large and long snout made to resemble a horse. It can be painted as many horse breeds as well as donkeys and zebras. It is made in hot foam latex and applied with Pros-Aid adhesive and painted with Kryolan Aquacolor makeup.

Researchers aim to give robots a more human-like face with a system that beams 3D images onto the back of a transparent plastic mask.

This is simply amazing. I am thinking about a million different ways this technology could be used... Imagine soldiers overseas able to have a virtual face to face using Skype with their families... Teachers could teach simultaneously at 20 different campuses around the world and be virtually present in each class!

Take video conferences. While participants in such sitdowns are usually displayed onscreen, with Mask-bot "you can create a realistic replica of a person that actually sits and speaks with you at the conference table," said Takaaki Kuratate, one of the researchers who worked on the project. "You can use a generic mask for male and female, or you can provide a custom-made mask for each person." Think head on a platter.

Someone saw the CBS13 report mentioning a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the return of the duck costume for the mascot at the Quick Quack Car Wash business and returned the costume, CBS13′s Tony Lopez reports. The owners of the Quick Quack Car Wash businesses say someone took the “Quakals the Duck” costume from a white minivan parked in downtown Sacramento on Front Street on Saturday night around 6. A police report was filed.

Sixteen actors dressed as zombies were injured Tuesday when they fell from a platform during filming of a new movie in the "Resident Evil" series, officials said, and rescue workers at first were startled at the seemingly catastrophic scene.

Can you imagine the rescue crew getting on the seen, looking at at all these individuals obviously hurt (they were disguised as zombie) and not know it's a movie set!

The victims' gory zombie costumes made it difficult for crews to assess the severity of the actors' injuries, said Peter Macintyre, Toronto emergency medical services spokesman.

The good news is that nobody was seriously injured, and the medics were able to figure it out!

In September I attended a steampunk convivial in my home town, naturally this required creating a steampunk costume. Thanks to YouTube, Threadbanger and a lot of time on Google, I eventually managed to create a costume that looked pretty good, despite my lack of skills with fabric and thread.

It could be bad news if you wait too long this year to get your pumpkins for Halloween. An out of the ordinary wet Summer in the NorthEast combined to Hurricane Irene in late August have compromised the growth of pumpkins this year in many farms.

Because of the seasonality and high demand for it, the price of pumpkins this year will sky-rocketed:

The wholesale price for a bin of 32 to 45 pumpkins ranged from $150 to $200 in upstate New York, about twice the normal price, Pray said. It was still unclear how the shortage would affect retail prices, he said, but in a normal year, each pumpkin could sell for up to $15 at a supermarket in a big city like New York.

“Just get your pumpkins early, that’s all I can say,” he said. “It’s going to be a difficult season.”

This is very neat! Not only does it appear that the Kensington palace where Prince William and Kate Middleton live appear to be haunted - which is pretty ghostly to think about - but they know decided to offer an enchanted tour for Halloween. Enchanted or haunted, this will be fabulous for hundreds to thousands of lucky little ones!

The Kensington palace is said to be haunted by the spirit of Queen Mary, William's great-great grandmother.

According to reports, "the Stories collected in the warders' log book over the years include numerous reports of screams, bumps and ghostly sightings."

Will Kate and William disguise to scare little ones? I don't know why, but i would not be surprised to see them doing it at the opening! They seem so laid back!

According to the news Sherlock Holmes will be on the big screen again in a sequel to the 2009 film. For those who enjoy the ultra smart and witty Sherlock Holmes and his interesting relationship with Irene Adler it could be the perfect time to start thinking about the next costume contest for couples. The costume outlined below is similar to one of the costume looks from the 2011 Sherlock Holmes Sequel. You can of course go for the original version of plaid overcoat and matching hat we have seen before.

Materials:

• Westcott (vest)
• Knit black pants
• Dress shirt
• Black overcoat
• Period shoes

  Instructions:

Step 1:Sherlock Holmes is a dapper dresser, which means you need to find the best materials to recreate the look. You can purchase items or use items from your own closet. You can also decide to use fabric to create the appropriate look. It is best to get a pattern and build from material in order to recreate the perfect period costume; however, to save money and time you might see what you can adapt in your own closet. Step 2: The Westcott or vest should have four buttons and be reddish brown. Step 3: The dress shirt should be a dirty white or green, the color choice is really up to you. A regular 21st century shirt is not going to work without some adaptation if you want to be completely original. Step 4: For the pants they should be formfitting and knit over other types of material since cotton was mostly used in the 19th century. Any dress pant may be enough to make the costume look alright though. Step 5: For the shoes you will need to find something like wingtips or another dress shoe that could pass for the shoes of earlier centuries. Add in a little muck and some wild hair and you could fit in the new movie!

Dancing on Ice is back for another round. It seems the late start-up in 2010 did not dampen the results the show earned in popularity. Like the more famous Dancing with the Stars and Strictly Ballroom, Dancing on Ice has professional skaters and famous people for partners. The line-up for 2011 is includes Nadia Sawalha and Mark Hanretty; Denise Welch and partner Matt Evans; Jennifer Metcalfe and Sylvian Longchambon; and Johnson Beharry and Jodeyne Higgin. Dancing on Ice will begin January 9th, 2011. Other individual who will take the ice are going to include Vanilla Ice, Elen Rives, Sam Attwater, Dave Vitty, and Chloe Madeley.

The judges will still include those from last season including Johnny Weir, who seems to have quite a following in his own career regarding skating competitions. It is the costumes that have our attention though.

Some of the costumes have the traditional flair found in ice skating with their sparkly appearance and tight designs. There is one particularly showy skating costume with pink and black, which has been pictured in some of the magazine and news ads for the new show.

The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has already become a billion dollar industry with three movies. On the success of these three the studio, director, and Johnny Depp joined up again to begin filming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides for the fourth installment. Filming is already taking place in London for a few action scenes and the part of the movie set there. Like much of the other Pirates movies there is going to be several locations for filming throughout the world.

The studio is pushing ahead with this new film mostly due to obtaining Johnny Depp back for Captain Jack Sparrow. This new story centers on Depp's character and even presents a love interest. Unfortunately, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom's characters' stories ended. It may mean less of a draw on the other hand the movie franchise has picked up Penelope Cruz for the title woman's character. The two may just be big enough to draw millions back into the theater to see how good the fourth movie is.

There is always a concern for studios that the second, third, and on in a series will not do as well in the box office. However, they have let it slip the writers are already working on a fifth story line. Whether this storyline is produced into a full-fledged movie is going to depend on movie 4. Can this next movie draw in enough of a crowd, especially being in 3D to warrant the production of a fifth Pirates film? We will have to wait and see. The 4th Pirates movie is set to release in May 2011 according to the news sites.

There are other sites talking about filming for movies 5 and 6 back to back. Even some news released that Disney has already decided on two more films. However, according to Hollywood's Entertainment Tonight and their man directly on the set watching filming for the 4th movie, this has yet to be decided.

It may be that 5 and 6 will be filmed, but if so the question is when. Johnny Depp has several commitments for movies after Pirates 4 stops filming. Plus, the plug could be pulled even on tentative plans for 5 and 6 should 4 flop in the movie theaters.

You may have to settle for your favorite Pirates of the Caribbean costume once movie four is out, if the theater response is not enough.

If you stayed until the ending credits of "Iron Man 2," you got a glimpse of Thor's hammer, Mjolnir in the desert. They didn't say it was Thor's hammer but longtime fans of Marvel comics know Thor's magical weapon when they see it.

While it was a slightly predictable teaser with the new Thor movie coming out in 2011, it was pretty much a given that Marvel would throw in a plug for their next big franchise. And why not hype it up? The big-screen version of Thor looks pretty promising. Chris Hemsworth plays the title role of Thor, a Norse warrior god whose bull-headed actions spark an old war among the gods. As punishment, Thor's father Odin (Anthony Hopkins} casts him down to Earth in the body of a disabled medical student by the name of Donald Blake. Blake eventually remembers that he is Thor and vows to protect mankind from his evil brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston). Along the way, he befriends a beautiful med student, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) who helps him in his quest.

The cast looks stellar and the possible new logo (see above) makes me think that Marvel is really taking this one seriously. No trailers for the new Thor movie are available just yet, but with San Diego Comic Con just around the corner, you just know Marvel will whip out the big guns and show us the goods in late July. So far, there's just one image from the film available featuring Chris Hemsworth in full Thor regalia:

From the looks of it, Marvel is going with the new Thor look as seen in the comics rather than his classic costume. New Thor costumes are available now with this heavily-armored metallic look:

Even if you're not a fan of the new look, there are still classic Jack Kirby-styled Thor costumes available, too. Either way, there are plenty of options and probably even more new Thor costumes to be revealed soon for several of the characters. I don't know about you, but I'm eager to see what Loki will look like!!

Although critics have been lukewarm on the new "Sex and the City 2" movie that was released nationwide today, I'm still looking forward to seeing it. Of course, I'll be going with three other female friends. And you know, we might even get dressed up like the fashionably fab four SATC gals.

HBO and "Sex and the City" have released a bunch of character wigs based on the unique hairstyles of each of the girls. Even if you've got your own idea for a Carrie Bradshaw costume and her quirky sense of style, if you're looking for a Miranda Hobbes costume, the officially licensed short red wig is a perfectly stylish start to your costume... Just add a briefcase and cell phone!

The Middle East and Abu Dhabi play a big role as the setting for "Sex and the City 2," which has been one of the gripes with the film according to fans and critics. New York was the "fifth" member of Sex and the City, so a lot of fans are pretty upset with the change in scenery. On a broader level, some critics find the setting too campy, glossing over any potential political overtones that may have made for a stronger social message.

Will there be Middle Eastern costumes in the film? You betcha! Stills from the film show the ladies wearing colorful desert-ready attire that seems more Arabian Nights than it does modern burquah.

As for me, I will reserve my judgment for the film until I see it. And hey, if you want an honest review (I promise, I will not drink one too many Cosmos and give the flick a glassy-eyed, glowing review after I see it Saturday afternoon! Really!), speak up and I'll be happy to post one here on CostumZee. If you'll excuse me, I've gotta go rustle up an eye-popping power suit and wig, like the How to Make a Samantha Jones costume suggests!

He's earnest, he's a pilot, and he's got more chest hair than Widmore has C4. He's Captain Frank Lapidus from "Lost"! He's got conspiracy theories about the crash and bonds with the rest of the Lostaways when he finds himself on the island. The fate of Frank (and his awesome chest hair) is still undetermined as he wasn't confirmed dead in the sunken submarine explosion that killed Sayid, Jin, and Sun. Take charge with a Frank Lapidus costume idea you can get behind:

Things You'll Need

• Brown wavy wig
• Scissors
• Grey spray-in hair color
• Love Boat Captain Stubing shirt
• Spirit gum
• Black pants
• Dress shoes
• Fake blood

Putting together your Capt. Frank Lapidus from LOST costume

Step 1: Get the hair down pat. Frank Lapidus' laid back hairstyle is the key to getting this costume down. Pick up a wavy brown wig and use your scissors to cut it in an appropriate style.

Step 2: Use your grey spray-in hair color to spritz the temples of your wig. Comb it back slightly so that the grey temple hair shows prominently.

Step 3: Use clippings from your wavy brown wig and apply them to your exposed chest area with spirit gum. Chances are, even if you do have chest hair, it may not be as fabulous and fluffy as Captain Frank's.

Step 4: Spray your newly applied chest hair with a bit of your grey spray-in hair color.

Step 5: Put on a Love Boat Captain Stubing shirt with naval epaulets on the side. Make sure you leave the shirt unbuttoned at least half way to allow your chest hair to "breathe."

Step 6: Put on a pair of black pants and black dress shoes.

Step 7: Add a bit of fake blood to your forehead and smear some of it on your shirt. Somehow, Frank always manages to get bloody.

This week, several TV shows wrapped up their 2009-2010 viewing seasons and some are winding to a close. Special Agent Jack Bauer is nearing the end of his final stretch of "24" hours with the series coming to a close.

Some series' aren't over yet, but their seasons went out in a big way this time around, too. House lost a patient but gained a girlfriend, winning over his supervisor, Dr. Lisa Cuddy. This season's story arc found him kicking his vicodin habit and mending fences with those around him. His best friend left him for his ex-wife and Cuddy was shacked up with a detective that House once had on his personal payroll. Just before House contemplated relaunching his addictive ways, he was halted by a visit from Cuddy, telling him she was done with her boyfriend and wanted him. We'll have to wait to be sure until next season that this isn't just a hallucination.

Gossip Girl also had some surprises at the season finale. Polish maid, Dorota and Russian doorman, Vanya had their little bundle of joy with Dorota going into labor. Chuck and Blair's on again-off again romance was promptly switched to the "off" category after he sealed the deal with Blair's nemesis, Jenny "Little J" Humphrey. Little J's raccoon mascara was a-runnin' as she was banished from the borough by Queen B. As Blair and her best friend Serena scampered off to Paris to forget their man troubles, Chuck was shot in the stomach, robbed for the engagement ring he was going to give to Blair. In other news, Serena's foe, Georgina Sparks returned pregnant with Serena's ex-boyfriend, Dan Humphrey named as the father. Uh-oh!!!

The season may be done for now, but with many of these seasons' episodes online or coming out on DVD, you can get caught up to speed and have summer viewing parties with friends dressed as your favorite characters. Were you of the thousands who flocked to theatres to see the remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" this past weekend? If not, maybe you're looking for a reason to see the flick or an unbiased opinion of how this remake stacks up to the original series.

For starters, it wasn't the best remake, but it certainly wasn't the worst. Thankfully, it was not a scene-for-scene remake and the writers attempted to add some new twists to the film. Unfortunately, some of those twists made the iconic character of Freddy Krueger very unlikeable. Jackie Earle Haley's Krueger was EVIL. Great pains seemed to be taken to make Haley's version of Freddy completely reprehensible. To be fair, 2010's "Nightmare" didn't say the "m-word," but it was more explicitly implied that Fred Krueger was a child molester than the 1984 original. The newer film showed Freddy directly interacting with the kids at the preschool where he was a gardener/handyman, forging bonds of friendship with the kids and then betraying them with abuse. The scenes of child abuse were (mercifully) absent from the film, but it was much more implied than it ever was in the original.

Comparing Haley's version of Krueger to original recipe, Robert Englund: Haley was just creepy and disturbing. There wasn't anything likeable about his Freddy. He was just evil in the worst way. For instance, when he said to an adult Nancy "I'm your boyfriend now," my skin crawled. Ick. However, when Robert Englund's Freddy said it, I thought, "Yeah"¦ Maybe you could be my boyfriend. You're a little burnt up, but I can work with this." Englund's Freddy was much more charming. Villanous, but still charming He had what the kids today call "swagger." Haley's Krueger was just completely malevolent and creepy.

That said, the only familiar character besides Freddy to make a return appearance was Nancy. Instead of being a wholesome "girl-next-door" Heather Langenkamp, we get the "Goth Artist Heroine." Nancy's police officer father was nowhere to be found in "Nightmare" 2.0. Instead, we got Clancy Brown as the Springwood High principal/Molotov-lobbing lynch mob leader of angry parents.

As for Freddy's makeover, it was much more realistic. The burns looked very real and warped, making Freddy look like a very melted man. It was pretty scary in terms of the realism factor. However, the film's CG was somewhat lacking. For as advanced as technology is, things weren't as realistic as they could have been "" or as original. Wes Craven's death scenes and concepts were much more original, done without the benefit of the technology at Hollywood's disposal now, over 25 years later.

Even so, fans of both the original "Nightmare" and the remake will be in for a treat this Halloween with new masks coming based on Jackie Earle Haley's horrifying Freddy Krueger makeup. If you prefer to kick it old school, tons of officially licensed costumes and accessories based on Robert Englund's original look are available, including the awesome Freddy Krueger Chest of Souls sweater, inspired by one of the scenes in "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors."

Set yourself apart from the pack of Freddies and allow yourself to play the victim to Elm Street's biggest baddie. A great choice for a couple's costume, this simple DIY Elm Street Victim costume is easy to make and can be as gory as you please!

Things You'll Need

• Fake blood
• Freddy Krueger glove
• Wadded up newspaper
• Thick gauge sewing needle
• Thread
• Old clothes OR
• Orange prison jumpsuit costume
• White t-shirt

Putting together your Freddy Krueger Elm Street Victim costume

Step 1: Pick out some old clothes you don't care about, or an orange prison jumpsuit costume to re-enact one of Freddy's greatest kills -- from both the old movie and the newest Nightmare.

Step 2: Wear a white t-shirt underneath your outfit so that the blood and gore show up with a nice contrast.

Step 3: Pick up a Freddy Krueger glove with plastic, bladed fingers. Next, you're going to stuff it full of wadded up newspaper so that it can stand up at attention on its own without flopping over.

Step 3: Take some very strong plastic thread and a needle thick enough to pass through the latex of the Freddy Krueger prop glove. Find a spot in the middle of the white t-shirt you will be wearing beneath your costume or shirt that you think the glove will look best "popping" out of.

Step 4: Reinforce the stitches as you sew the glove's edges to your t-shirt, making it look like the glove is protruding from the middle of your chest. Go over the stitches a few times so that they do not come loose. As you sew, add some more newspaper to the inside of the glove to make sure it won't fall flat.

Step 5: Slip on your shirt and the remainder of your costume.

Step 6: Now comes the fun part! Add a ton of blood to the front of your white t-shirt. Make sure it's good and saturated, looking like you've just been eviscerated on the spot by Freddy. For a realistic look, make sure the blood is darker at the center as it spreads outward and use some black cream makeup if you want as a base for a deeper color before applying gobs of red blood. Don't forget to add some fake "blood" to your mouth, too!

Friday April 16, 2010 has created quite a stir when it comes to Wall Street and Fraud. The SEC announced they would be charging Goldman Sachs with fraud regarding their treatment of mortgages. It is even surmised that the large bank was ultimately responsible for some of the downfall in the subprime mortgage industry. With a whirlwind of news regarding Goldman Sachs and a sense of humor I've come up with two costumes you might consider for your next costume party.

The first idea is the Golden Sack, which is simply a toga like costume all decked out in gold fabric that can reflect a "sach." So with a little play on words you can be Goldman Sachs at the costume party with your golden toga costume!

If this doesn't suit you try out our other costume idea: The Goldman Bombshell. Again you would require a gold fabric costume, only this time you can create a rounded bomb using some bunting to get it in a "bomb" shape. With a little wick at the top for a hat you will have a golden bomb. You might want to add a little "tick tock" and Goldman Sachs lettering to the fabric, as you warn everyone that you're about to go "Boom!"

While it may not be funny to realize a chairman of Goldman Sachs wrote an email detailing the fall he suspected and that he would be the only one left standing- it helps to laugh with a costume idea or two. The last couple of years have been difficult for many and to realize one company was making it their goal to fraud others it's better to make light of a situation than to be angrier.

When life closes in and you're feeling a little low, there is always comedy. It can be a little shared joke, a night in a comedy club, or in the case of this weekend it can be a movie of the Comedy Genre. Friday March 19th, 2010 Bounty Hunter was released in theatres.

It may not get the top spot for theatrical releases like Alive in Wonderland or even the still popular Avatar, but it is a movie worth seeing if you need a little laugh and a couple hours to get away from it all.

Bounty Hunter stars Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler. Butler is a retired cop who has turned bounty hunter. He also has a gambling problem and problems with his ex- wife. Aniston plays Butler's ex-wife as a reporter who uncovers a story. Butler's character Milo Boyd is sent on an assignment to bring his bail jumper wife back because she was following a lead on her story missing her court date for an incident with a police horse.
The concept may have been a little predictable, but the two actors really made the comedy shine and the hour and a half spent in the theatre worth it. It has also brought to mind the bounty hunter costume concept.

The film may not have had any great costumes, but Dog the Bounty Hunter costume could be your next choice. Dog have been missing from AE with new shows for a bit of rough commentary, but he is back with all new shows. Thus his popularity among costume folks has also resurfaced.

Dog the Bounty Hunter is not the only costume you might consider for a bounty hunter costume theme. Another news release has sparked some interest for fans of Janet Evanovich. Evanovich writes a series with a character called Stephanie Plum. The 16 books in the series have been increasingly popular for their comedy. In the news a resurgence of a movie concept has occurred. NY Times released that Heigel from Grey's Anatomy will be playing the fun loving character Stephanie Plum in a Columbia Picture.

So what does this have to do with Bounty Hunter Costumes? Stephanie Plum is a lingerie buyer turned bounty hunter. She is perhaps the sexiest fictional bounty hunter around! At the very least she is the most dangerous amateur what with her penchant for blowing up cars, getting shot at, and you cannot forget her two love interests. Pretty soon fans of the series may be able to have a Stephanie Plum sexy bounty hunter costume based on the movie!

Tim Burton's newest film, his interpretation of the Lewis Carroll classic, Alice in Wonderland, opened to record numbers at the box office this weekend, pulling in $41 million since Friday. Pretty impressive, considering critics have panned the flick.

Having seen it myself, the film certainly dispells the bad rap that critics have given it. I will fully admit that I'm a sucker for anything Tim Burton does (with the exception of the unforgivable Planet of the Apes remake), so bear in mind the review may be a bit biased. That said, while Alice in Wonderland isn't my favorite Burton film by a longshot, it's still a very good, very enjoyable film that adults and children can both enjoy. It's not overly long and the scenery and CGI renderings of the fantastical world of Wonderland (or "Underland" as we learn it's properly called) are beautiful to look at. The characters' costumes also help to create the characters and striking visual images.

Fortunately, unlike the slew of remakes that seem to be assaulting the box office with regularity lately, Burton's vision of Wonderland is somewhat different than the animated Disney version or any other imagining of the film. This time around, Alice is no longer a precocious little girl. Instead, she's a 19-year old young woman who has grown up, despising the Victorian social traditions of the English culture she's grown up in. Faced with having to marry an uptight nobleman suitor, she escapes and falls down a rabbit hole, back to the Wonderland she thought only existed in her childhood dreams. She soon realizes that the fantastical creatures and persons she met there are very real.

There are a few gripes with the film, however. The visuals were great, but I wish some of the characters were better fleshed out. Each of the characters were intriguing, but only snippets of their backstories and histories with one another were alluded to in the film. It was all very fast paced with Alice being the focal point that many of the supporting characters were glossed over with the exception of their relationship to her.

Among the characters that could have been given more explanation were the Mad Hatter, the White Queen, and the Knave of Hearts. Johnny Depp was top notch (as always), but seemed somewhat wasted as the Mad Hatter. There was no real explanation as to why he frequently broke into a Scottish accent. By the end of the film, the Hatter had gotten rid of his pants and took to wearing a kilt with his ensemble, looking like Braveheart went on an acid trip and then broke into RuPaul's makeup kit. (Seriously.)

The White Queen was an interesting character, but one of the major ones that could have used more backstory. Anne Hathaway played the Queen as an airy, slightly demented ballerina -- flitting about with graceful gestures that merited a pair of toe shoes. Actually, come to think of it, the look of the character of the White Queen and Hathaway's movements reminded me of Perri Lister (rocker Billy Idol's ex-girlfriend), who was the ballerina in Idol's "White Wedding" video in the '80s... Hmmmm... Wonder if that was what Tim Burton or Anne Hathaway had in mind when creating the character?

Crispin Glover was the unsung hero of the flick as the creepy Knave of Hearts who has a sort of "thing" going on with the Red Queen. Not much was revealed about the character's history or how he came to have such a close relationship to the Red Queen, but Glover's portrayal of the character of Ilosovich Stayne left the audience curious for more. Glover's Stane came across as very menacing, but in that creepy, weasely sort of way rather than by using brute force.

Helena Bonham Carter was very good in the role of the Red Queen, but it was her standard crazy, evil villainess role. (Which I happen to love her in, though.)

Little Britain's Matt Lucas made an impressive big screen debut as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. You could see little bits of his myriad of Little Britain characters coming through in the role!There were a few nice little vocal cameos by Christopher Lee (who had about 3 lines as the Jabberwocky) and Alan Rickman as the hookah-puffing caterpillar.

I'm curious to see the official Disney costumes that will be released for the Alice in Wonderland film. So many of the costumes in the film (particularly Alice's multiple wardrobe changes) were gorgeous and could be completely wearable and comfortable as costumes. (I suppose it's too much to ask for a Hot Topic couture line inspired by the film, eh?)

Jake Gyllenhaal makes it to the big screen again in a movie that is supposed to be a blockbuster for Hollywood. This time Gyllenhaal is going back in time to medieval Persia where he rules as the Prince. Unfortunately, he has been tricked into releasing a sandstorm that could destroy the entire world.

The Prince of Persia must team up with a Princess in order to save his own kingdom and others from the sands of time. By using the Dagger of Time he can control the flow of time in order to right the wrongs that have occurred. The Prince of Persia is based on the popular video game, much like Tomb Raider. It is actually thought that the Prince of Persia will turn into as big or bigger blockbuster as the video game turned movie Tomb Raider was.

The director is Mike Newell, and Gyllenhaal is joined by Ben Kingsley, Gemma Arterton, Alfred Molina, Reece Ritchie, Toby Kebbel, and Ambika Jois. Out of the names listed it seems the largest draw will be Gyllenhaal, though Gemma Arterton is a rising star.

She was in Quantum of Solace, but perhaps many will recognize her for her appearance as Tess Durbeyfield in the PBS special Tess of the D'Urbervilles. It may be that Prince of Persia will be her making in the US mainstream as an actress of talent. Her Tess was quite well done, but that was still a UK production as many of her other works have been.

It will be a battle of epic proportions in the film not only to do well in the box office but provide us with Prince of Persia costumes we will want to wear. The film is being released on May 28, 2010, so you'll have to wait and decide if the movie is worth the Prince and Princess costumes that could result.

Want an outstanding accessory for your Pimp or Lady Gaga costume? Go the DIY route and make a unique pimp cane or "disco stick" with just a few items from a craft store. Use your own creativity to decorate it as you see fit. Best of all, even an elaborate pimp cane can take only an hour (or less) to build.

Things You'll Need

• Long wooden dowel (2.5 to 3 feet)
• Acrylic paint (your choice of color or colors)
• Paint brush
• Newspaper to lay out
• 3" or larger styrofoam ball
• Scissors
• Silver or gold glitter paint
• Loose glitter in your choice of color
• Saran wrap
• Hot Glue Gun or Krazy Glue
• Embellishments of your choice such as sequins, Swarovski crystals, etc.

Putting together your Pimp Cane or Lady Gaga Disco Stick

Step 1: Head to your local craft store to pick up most of what you need. You can get a long, wooden dowel, embellishments, and a styrofoam ball to serve as the topper on your cane or disco stick.

Step 2: Choose a color scheme for your cane/stick. Grab your paint brush and dip it in the acrylic paint and begin painting your entire wooden dowell with it. You can lay it flat on newspaper while painting it or lean it up against a washable surface to dry.

Step 3: If you wish to do a second coat once the dowel is dry, you may do so. This would be the time to add any loose glitter to it if you want a twinkling stick. If you wish to add sequins or crystals, wait until your stick is dry to begin tacking them onto it with gem glue or Super Glue.

Step 4: While your dowel is drying, grab your styrofoam ball and cut a hole in the bottom of it with your scissors. Plunge them in and make a small hole and cut it so that it will securely fit over the top of your dowel.

Step 5: Clean off your paintbrush or use a new one to begin painting your styrofoam ball with solid acrylic or glitter paint. You can choose a number of looks and paint it to resemble an 8 Ball, or with silver and/or crystaline glitter for a Disco Stick.

Step 6: Add more embellishments of your choice once the styrofoam ball is dry.

Step 7: To make sure none of your embellishments fall off of your styrofoam ball or stick to your hand, grab a small piece of Saran Wrap and stretch it carefully over your ball. The smaller the better so you don't have bunching. Tuck the excess into the hole at the bottom of the ball. This is great to keep your handiwork in place and to keep everything in place.

Step 8: Now that your dowel and ball topper are dry, fire up the hot glue gun or get some Crazy Glue and put a dab on the end of the dowel and inside the styrofoam ball hole. Apply gentle pressure so the glue sticks to the surfaces once they make contact. Wait a while for it to dry and you're ready to show them how strong your pimp hand is or take someone for a ride on your disco stick!

Talk regarding the 4th instalment of Spiderman 4 has many questioning if the movie will actually come to fruition. The last three Spiderman movies have included Sam Raimi as director and Toby Maguire as Spiderman. Yet, an announcement was made that neither director nor actor would be returning to the 4th instalment. Instead Mark Webb will be the director. We are still confused as to who the new lead actor will be, as announcements are clouded in uncertainty.

Spider Man 4 was set to release in 2011, with production starting in 2010. However, the movie is not going to debut until 2012. This was a bit of a shock for Spidey fans who already dusted off their costumes in anticipation of the movie.

What's even more of a shock besides having to put away Spiderman costumes, and the whole actor/ director issue is the premise behind this forth movie. The news is calling it an origin story of characters, but if you will remember we have learned about the origin of Spiderman in the first movie along with some of the other characters, so it sounds like movie four is a rehash of old news. Yet, we cannot say for certain until the 2012 release.
