With Halloween Eve upon us it is time to see what we can come up with in the last minute. Tomorrow you will still have time to get a costume ready if you are participating in an event for the evening. However, if you need something for the entire day it might be time to look at your own closet to determine what you might be able to purchase. The online stores won't be a help to you now and many of the costume stores in your town will be sold out of the top 10 costumes, and quite possibly any costume to fit your size.
What is more most stores with costumes like Wal-Mart, Sams Club, Target, and others are already rolling out Christmas decorations. So, if you find you lack a costume for a last minute party it might be time to revisit a year old costume, but with some definite changes.
Your closet and Halloween supplies might have every thing you need to come up with a little something different. Vampires are always a hit and though overdone you can always go back to this look. Your own makeup or spouses makeup can be of use. All you need is a pale foundation, red lipstick, and black clothing. You may not have the teeth, but the makeup and clothing will be enough to convince others you are in a vampire costume.
If you feel vampires are overrated, but have a cat costume consider how you can alter it. For example a leopard print top and pants can be died with black to create a panther costume. You could even make a cat costume in to a bear costume or other fuzzy animal. A cat tail can be shortened and the ears can be folded over to become more round. A few pieces of fabric can be purchased at any time of the year, which means you can find something at your local craft store to alter a costume you already have.
Do you have a loose shirt with a string tie instead of buttons? Perhaps you have some tight fitting pants in black or brown? Add a bandana, tricorn hat, and a fake sword made of tin foil and you have a pirate. A long flowing skirt, kerchief, your fake jewels, gold hoops in your ears, and hello Gypsy costume.
Whether you want to create an Indiana Jones costume, pirate costume, or furry animal your closet and any makeup you have on hand can go a long way towards helping you. It is not to late to DIY your costume based on what you already own whether it is an old costume you change up or your daily work clothes. All you need is a black suit, white shirt, and tie with dark sunglasses and you can call yourself a G-man! Let your creativity be your guide in Last Minute Halloween Costumes!
