How to make a Jersey Shore SNOOKI Guidette costume

posted by Lana417 on (4 years, 3 months ago)

"Jersey Shore" is undoubtedly one of the hottest shows on TV. The MTV reality show has gifted the world with the Fist Pump as a dance move and has made Seaside Heights the hippest place to go Guido-Watching during the summer.

One of the breakout stars of the show has been the diminuitive, self-proclaimed "guidette," Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi who sports a ginormous pouff in her long black hair.

Check out how you can be the belle of the bar (and dodge those sucker punches!) with a simple DIY tutorial on how to make your own Snooki costume:

Things You'll Need

  • Long black wig in a straight style
  • Hairspray
  • Hair clips
  • Teasing comb
  • Spray-tan or self tanner
  • Black eyeliner
  • Black eyeshadow
  • Grey eyeshadow
  • Nude lipstick (or any pale colored lipstick)
  • Leopard print or black mini-dress OR
  • Black tank top and bright colored "booty shorts"
  • Platform Heels
  • Pickles or Pickle Jar
  • Fake nails
  • OPTIONAL: Pink Trucker cap (with a DIY "Future Porn Star decal)

Putting together your Snooki costume

Step 1: If you're not already tan, you're going to want to get yourself a deep spray tan or apply several coats of self tanner over the course of a few days to get Snooki's uber-tan complexion.

Step 2: Do your makeup Snooki style! Apply the grey eyeshadow first and then use the darker grey or black eyeshadow in the crease for a smokey eye. Apply black eyeliner pencil to the inside rims of your eyes as well as the outer, upper rim. Curl your lashes and put on a coat of mascara.

Step 3: Use a pale, nude or pink lipliner to color in your lips for a matte finish. It serves as a nice contrast against the Ultimate Guidette Tan!

Step 4: Put on a long straight black wig and style it. If you're lucky enough to already have long black hair, follow the next steps to get Snooki's signature "pouff."

Step 5: Take your teasing comb and brush your bangs or longer bangs to the front of your hairline and make a deep side part, tucking longer bangs behind your ear so they can fall forward once your done styling.

Step 6: Next, take a section of hair from the crown of your head, lift it up and begin teasing it or "backcombing." Lift the section up by the bottom and take your comb, pulling the underside of the hair down so it makes a big "pouff." (With Snooki's hairstyle, there's no such thing as teasing it too much or making it TOO big!)

Step 7: Secure the Pouff down with a hair clip or two and some bobbypins. You will want the front part to stay up and the ends to flow down long and sleek. Spray your pouff and your bangs several times with hairspray so it stays in place.

Step 8: Put on a leopard print or black mini-dress and hoist those "girls" high! Add a pair of platform heels.

Step 9: If you don't want to pull off the "Pouff," and mini-dress look, you can dress up with one of Snooki's alternate outfits. Put on a "Future Porn Star" trucker cap in a bright pink color (or just make your own with a computerized iron-on transfer printed from your computer), a black tank top, and a pair of booty shorts... With the platform heels! Put on a pair of oversized sunglasses, too!

Step 9: Grab a plate of pickles and get ready to cruise for the hottest, tannest Guidos at the shore! Fist pump!!

For the matching "Situation" costume, there's a store on Zazzle called TorsoTees. Get one of the Torso Tee shirts, add hair gel and sunglasses and you're ready to go. I won a costume contest last night with this!
